Birmingham Type 1 Diabetes Symposium.
The meeting consists of keynote presentations, workshops, open debate and networking. This will run from the afternoon of the 27th June into 28th June 2019, and be based at the Edgbaston Park Hotel, University of Birmingham.
The Children With Diabetes Friends for Life Conference 2017 is to be held in The Beaumont Hotel, Old Windsor on 27-29 October 2017. Registration is £60 per person age 6 and above, £30 per little person aged 3-5, and FOC for under 2s. The Fee covers:-
Friday night reception and Opening Keynote
Saturday – 4 sessions for the adults with the choice of speaker
Full Youth Programme for Elementary (6-8), Tweens (9-12) and Teens (13-17)
Childcare for the under 5s
All snacks between sessions
Please note Dinner is not included either night.
The children (T1s and non T1 siblings) are grouped in their ages as at 27 October and enjoy fun-filled educational sessions with experienced team leaders while the adults attend their own sessions. The weekend is sure to be filled with fun and laughter, some tears and frustrations, education, exciting challenges and cutting edge information. If you have not already registered, why not join us to hear from Doctors, a Dietician, Psychologist and guest speakers who live with T1 diabetes and who have achieved great things, watch the children of all ages become Friends for Life and see their excited faces as their bonds develop. From toddlers to grandparents, from those new to the T1 world to those more experienced, from laypeople to the medical professionals we will all join together and make new and lifelong friendships. This is a conference you will never forget and one you will want to come back to again and again and again. Hotel accommodation is NOT included in the registration fee and you do not have to stay at the Beaumont to attend although the majority of the families do. JDRF hold Discovery days and weekend for families and young people with Type 1 Diabetes. They support many fundraising events around the UK also.
